Glen & Company
Glen & Company is an architectural and interior design firm
founded in 2000 by Glen Coben to create customized commercial,
hospitality and retail designs that realize each client's
vision, while challenging and engaging their customers.
Glen & Company's experienced group of design professionals have
a unique understanding of the special needs of the industries
they design for - from cultural and geographic considerations to
strict budgetary and programming requirements. Additional
services include art procurement, graphic and signage programs
as well as uniform and table top design.
Glen & Company's current projects include designs for a complete
renovation of the historic Old Homestead restaurant in
Manhattan; a complete renovation and re-launch of a 34-room
luxury hotel and resort in Madison, CT ; Hilton New York Fashion District, a new
Hotel in Manhattan; a new restaurant, bar and rooftop
bar for Rare in Manhattan; a new 50,000 square foot building for
Whole Foods; a Wellness Center and spa concept for Miraval in
Tucson, Arizona; L'Esguard New York for noted Spanish
neurologist turned chef Miguel Sanchez Romera; a new 50,000
square foot ground-up building for Whole Foods; a complete
renovation of La Vista, the 5,000 square foot 3-meal-a-day
restaurant and beach bar at the San Juan Marriott; and the
planning and design of a gourmet center and 7 signature
restaurants in Caracas, Venezuela.
Recently completed projects include a complete renovation of
Compass restaurant in Manhattan; a complete renovation of the
historic Old Homestead restaurant in Manhattan's Meatpacking
District; the complete renovation and re-launch of the Edison
Ballroom, formerly the Supper Club in Manhattan; restaurants for
noted chef, Mario Batali (Del Posto), Jonathan Waxman
(Washington Park), Marcus Samuelsson (Riingo) as well as 57
Restaurant and Bar, a 5,000 square foot Lounge, Bar and
Restaurant in the Roponggi District of Tokyo.
Glen & Company projects have been published in Hospitality
Design, Metropolis, Interior Design and have been cited in The
New York Times. In 2002 the firm was a Gold Key Award Finalist
for Guest Room Design (Flatotel) in the competition sponsored by
Hospitality Design magazine and was recognized by Hospitality
Design magazine as one The New Breed in 2003. The April 2007
issue of Hospitality Design Magazine features 7 Square
Restaurant, while the October 2008 issue features where Glen
Coben likes to shop in Tokyo.
Glen Coben has been named to the Advisory Board of Culintro, a
culinary trade organization whose mission is to establish a
source that will provide insights on major trends, access to
business professionals, and serve as a gateway to influence
culinary industry development. Additionally, Glen Coben has
recently become an Assistant Visiting Professor of Interior
Design at Pratt Institute.
